Match Report Press Report

Lee-on-Solent Vets 2 Lost to Five Rivers Vets 1 in a one-sided match.

With the home team having higher Gradings in 2 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. The away team proved the statisticians wrong though by clinching a great win.

On paper, the number 3 string should have been the closest, with only 26 ranking points separating the two players before the match. The Away player, Mark Kidner, did well therefore to secure the win.

It was the number 2 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 69 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Peter Hardingham.

Player of the tie was the Away No. 1 string, Martyn Williams, gaining 100 Ranking Points from the match.

Player of the match must be the Away number 1 string, Martyn Williams, who over-turned a 1282 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
